Why You Should Have an Eye Examination

A regular eye examination is about far more than updating your prescription. Your eyes can reveal early signs of serious health conditions - including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and glaucoma - that often develop without obvious symptoms. Early detection is key to preventing vision loss and enabling timely treatment.

For children (link to children’s eyecare page), regular examinations are equally important, as undetected vision problems can significantly affect learning and development.

The Patient Journey

Your examination begins with a discussion of your medical history, lifestyle, and occupation. Advanced imaging technology - including OCT retinal scanning, tonometry, slit lamp examination, and visual field testing - is then used to assess the health of your eyes in detail.

Your prescription is accurately determined using the latest computerised equipment, and the appointment concludes with a thorough discussion of findings and personalised advice on lenses and eyewear.
